Sri. Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha has over the past seven decades played a unique role in the national integration and cultural synthesis of our country. Fine Arts kindles the esoteric perceptions of the connoisseur. It has the infinite capacity to take one’s mind from the realm of mundane life into the regions of ethereal charm. It is this bridge that the Sabha has effectively deployed to bring forth a fusion of diverse cultures, religions and interests.

Sri Shanmukhananda Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Auditorium which is one of the largest auditorium to the east of Suez merges culture and commerce and has been the venue for several national and international events. In merging tradition and talent, the Sabha has over the years done pioneering work in perpetuating Indian classical music in its widest import. Today the Auditorium is more than an edifice, it is a part of living history, a monument to cultural synthesis, one singular object that in its multifaceted dimensions and secular nature, epitomizes the city it stands proud in, and in a larger sense the nation. The Shanmukhananda Sabha; it’s a living tradition.
The Sabha has actively promoted all genres of music and musicians of the yore. The centenary of all classical musicians is celebrated by the Sabha with reverence, devotion and dedication. In a record of sorts, it celebrated the centenary of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. S. Subbulakshmi between 2015 and 2017 in association with Government of India. It is in continuation of this tradition that the Sabha has associated itself with the family of late Shri. Mohammed Rafi and would be jointly celebrating the centenary through year long events commencing from 24th December 2023.
